Volume 16 of the «Proceedings of the Mordovia State Nature Reserve» is devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Russian Protected Areas system. It includes some archive reports unpublished previously devoted to the research of fauna and animal ecology in the Mordovia State Nature Reserve. These works are authored by I.M. Oliger, V.D. Nekrasova, A.A. Uspenskaya, L.V. Shaposhnikov, N.K. Shidlovskaya. Besides them, this volume contains materials devoted to the inventory of invertebrates and algae of the Mordovia State Nature Reserve, research results of invertebrates in the Republic of Mordovia and other Russian regions. The volume traditionally includes studies of the ecology of reptiles and amphibians, new records of rare animals in the Republic of Mordovia.
